On Conversion and Dogma

The true Occultist has neither use nor interest in dogmatic assertion of ideals, or the desire to convert an individual to a system of thought, be it theological, philosophical or otherwise.

There are no systems, at any point in history, which have escaped this rule — theology, economics, politics, philosophy, psychology. All tend toward dogma. The Occult is no different.

One of the first tools that an Initiate learns is to discern. To see a thing for what it truly is, to see as many sides of it as possible, to be open to the idea that the convictions I hold true about reality today, I may find are untrue tomorrow.

The General Occultist works toward paradoxical synthesis instead of dogma. You will not find dogma here. For those who have eyes to see.
